Sacred Shores

The name is inspired by Ugo Foscolo’s poem A Zacinto, where the poet remembers with nostalgia the “sacre sponde” — “the sacred shores” — of his homeland, the Greek island of Zakynthos. Those shores become a timeless symbol of beauty and longing, a place that lives within even when far away.

As Foscolo wrote:
“You, sacred shores, shall nevermore be mine,
where my young body lay, cradled by the waves.”
